viva la = bravo, vida=life라고. 그럼 bravo life. long live life.
인생예찬이라고 번역한 사람도 있다.
가까이 엘비스 프레슬리 노래에도 비바 라스베이거스가 있었다.
메르세데스 소사도 그라시아스 라 비다를 불렀고 리키 마틴도 리빙 라 비다 로카. 남미쪽 노래에 로다 비다란 노래도 있었다.
작사한 사람은 멕시코의 여류미술가인 프리다 칼로의 마지막 작품(수박을 그린 정물화라고)에 viva la vida라고 적혀 있는 것을 보고, 그렇게 고생스런 인생을 살아간 여인이 인생을 예찬하는 것에 감명받고 영감받았다고 함.
