I'm your man, Birds on a wire 혹은 Hallelujah로 유명한 코헨의 또 다른 앨범.

단 10곡이지만, 앨범 한장에서 우리가 건지는 곡은 보통 1곡이나 2곡이다. 이 앨범은 더 많다.

첫곡인 In my secert life도 좋고, 끝곡인 Boogie Street도 좋다. 중간에 박힌 노래 하나 번역해본다.

1. 사랑의 신은 비너스. 비너스는 168cm. 168cm가 매달릴(hoist) 정도면, 남자는 장신에 수줍고 과묵한 타입일까.
2. 노래는 처음부터 끝까지 파트너인 sharon이 함께 부르는 형식. 코헨의 검은 목소리에 형광펜으로 밑칠해주듯이. 떠나가는 알렉산드라도 보내는 사람과 같은 마음인 걸 형식으로 들려준다.
3. satin이라. 공단, 고급비단. 물랭루즈의 주인공 이름도 satin이었다. silk는 비단, satin은 공단.

공단 - 무늬가 없는 고급 비단/비단은 명주인데 두툼한 것을 말함
견단=견주=산동주 - 중국 산동 지방에서 생산되는 명주
양단 - 무늬를 넣어 두껍게 짠 비단의 한 종류
 
즉 공단과 양단은 무늬가 있느냐 없느냐로 구분되는 반대 개념이라 보면 되고, 견단은 명주실의 산지로 구분한 별개의 개념입니다.
